The Perfectionist

A small percentage of networkers fit in the profile of The Perfectionist. According to the dictionary term, a perfectionist is an individual who is displeased by anything that does not meet their high standards or someone who is compelled to do a certain thing. In networking, The Perfectionist can clearly be spotted in the room and is well known among their colleagues and potential business counterparts. They are the epitome of excellence and excel in their networking endeavors with “perfection”. Their views are extraordinary and idealistic and they use networking to its fullest potential and even beyond. They are excellent in professionalism and etiquette and are people of their word. As a matter of fact, they pride themselves on their morals, ethics and professional responsibilities to their profession or industry.

Although, The Perfectionist is the ideal networker, they encounter a few character and personality flaws that may make it difficult to conduct business or build lasting relationships. Perfectionist can be very judgmental and critical in social and business situations which can hinder relationship development. They can also be over bearing and least responsive if things are not going their way or the ideal plan. Perfectionist may have wavering patience levels and not take the time to develop relationships that can prove to be beneficial for future endeavors.

Perfectionists should focus on being patient and developing long term relationships. They should also use their high skills and abilities to connect with business counterparts and professionals as well as connect people with others. Perfectionists should also operate with ideals that are beneficial to themselves and others. They should choose to adapt to the group, team or environment for overall success.
